Waiting . . .

So this may seem a little cheesy to some, but I thought I would just share the first "film" I have produced. We got our new HD camcorder yesterday and I have been experimenting with it. I made this movie last night (much to the chagrin of my wife). I trust that you are able to understand what the "waiting" is all about.

May 17th! Sweet, that's the day I was supposed to be born, but my Mom squeezed me out two days early. There's actually a really funny story behind this.

Congrats on the new camera! (Oh, and the baby too).

Thanks Mithun! May 17 was your due date, huh? It's actually my niece's birthday, as well as my father-in-law's, and two cousins. Big day.

So what is the funny story behind your premature birth?

...and it was the birthday of my best friend in high school.

In short, the doctor told my Mom I was due on May 17th. She stubbornly insisted to him that I was going to be born on May 15th, the birthday of her father (my grandfather). Although he told her she didn't have much of a choice in this, sure enough, she went into labor on May 15th, and I was born that day.

Fast forward 13 years, my Dad, in conversation with my grandfather, finds out that his birthday isn't May 15th after all. He just chose that date for the purposes of his passport when first immigrating to the US for mere convenience (05/15/25 was easy to remember); India at the time didn't issue birth certificates with dates on them, just astrological charts. His actual birthday was probably sometime in October 1925. So, it turns out, my mom psychologically self-induced labor for no reason.

I love the movie. It's not chessy. No way! I've watched it now three times & it's a great first movie. Save it for your son.
It is all very, very exciting.
